Missing Kitten Clovis ( 31st January 2014)

WP_20140123_09_22_42_Pro I have been feeding him since before Christmas, I found him living in a cardboard box in the garden but it took at least 3 weeks till he’d come near me. He used to turn up in trees or on roofs, I’d look up and find him quietly watching me! Once he became tame he was like a barnacle, following me round even for walks half a mile away! He wasn’t keen on going in a box to the vets though!

Cole  (Posted 16th December 2013)

‘This is Cole, a 3yr old staffi/boxer cross. He was rescued by Peter and Lorraine Lowndes in August of this year from a local rescue centre, but soon became ill with lungworm. He was brought into The Firs where he was treated but due to his continuous nose bleed, he had  to be admitted to our veterinary hospital in Hartford. He was blood tested and treated quickly with advocate spot on which got him back to full health. Cole, is a very special boy and we are all so pleased he has made a full recovery. He loves his new family and is enjoying his forever home.

A huge thank you to all our lovely clients who have wished us well in our new premises and all the nice comments from those of you who have been in since we moved.

New Surgery Update (Posted 12 June 2013)

Today the broadband has gone in and the painters are painting the final coat on the outside. The builders are now moving out so that we can start moving in bit by bit ready for opening on Tuesday.

New Surgery Nearing Completion (Posted 11 June 2013)

As many of you know we will be moving premises on 18th June to Church Street in Kelsall. The builders have been working hard over the last 4 months altering the former La Bella restaurant into a modern veterinary facility. We are now in the final stages, the reception desk went in yesterday and the painters are finishing off the outside. The cat and dog kennels are going in this week and then the signage will go up. Exciting times !!!

Award Nominations (Posted May 2013)

We are delighted to announce that we have been nominated for awards in three categories of the annual Petplan Veterinary awards. Now in their 14th year the awards are seen as the ‘Oscars’ of the veterinary world. Fiona has received a nomination for Vet of the year and Sheryl has received a nomination for Veterinary Nurse of the year. In addition The Firs has also been nominated for Veterinary Surgery of the year. We would like to thank all our lovely clients who have nominated us – we have put in a lot of hard work and investment since we took over the surgery and it is really touching that you all think so much of us.
